       Adding the water was such a pain in the ass... 3/10 will never do again.

My my, nice dam. Can I offer some tips and suggestions, if you don't mind?
Place one layer of dirt wherever you want artificial lake, flood the lake with water and then remove dirt. Depth strider helps when removing dirt. Dams usually have some opening to let water out because they are mostly used for electricity production. You might want to add that, to break up lines. Might I suggest time controlled dam, where water flows only at day.

okay... just remember... you asked for this
 first, if you place a layer of dirt and then fill the top with water you'll continuously have flowing water beneath the layer of source blocks you've placed. Also, if you swim in it, you'll have to swim against the downward current when ever you are trying to get out of the lake... not what I wanted. And the sounds are annoying. (Also, I'm OCD, and I'd know I had "cheated") Second, On the side of the dam, farthest away from the camera perspective in the last picture, is where an opening like the one you've described is going to be placed. In fact, it's going to 'turn' a massive water wheel which is going to operate my lumber mill. (Oh, and what you're talking about is called a spill way, and it's for water level management, not for power generation. Water used for turning the turbines of a generator would come from pipes at the lowest part of the lake to take advantage of the high pressure) And third... that's a cool idea, I might try that. I just thought it was funny because I had already thought of all the things you brought up... except the redstone controlled water gate... that one is cool.

Post by antrizar on Dec 7, 2016 23:58:53 GMTGo up the ladder in the nether, at the very top is a sign that says "600 blocks to Antrizar" ... follow that path until you get to a torch on the ground (You should past a left turn to Sunbaze's place, and the next left is mine) take the left at the torch and follow it until you get to the portal. Once you arrive in the overworld, you'll see signs that will direct you the rest of the way. Are you Hungry!?

... So, I like to dig, what can I say?            I didn't want to start a massive project... So I thought I'd build a small underground base at spawn as I don't have a spawn home yet. Three days later, and here were are at Y=23 with a massive tunnel. Sometimes, I don't know how to stop.

I put together a cow farm at spawn.  It is located by the pond. Here are some instructions: The bottom section behind the glass is where the calves will fall (And be roasted...which is so evil... I mean, their parents are right there, like, right above them. They can see everything. Like, it's really fucked up. You come along with wheat, and they're all like, "Yes, I want the wheat." "The wheat is all we need for our massive cow orgy!" and then their kids fall down below them, and their parent get to see them grow up. They make a strong connection. Then, you come along and press that wooden button, and lava burns them all alive! AND THEIR PARENTS HAVE TO WATCH! They can smell the burning flesh, hear the screams... OMG, I'm such a monster for making this) You can breed the cows from above. There are three groups of them with 20 cows each. There is another wooden button up top which releases water, which will cause the cows to bounce. Hold wheat on the bouncing cows, they will make babies. Babies fall down. Wait for babies to grow up... Hit the wooden button down below and lava will kill the grown up cows, giving you cooked steak. All loot will end up in the chest. Please do not take the seed items (leave at least one item in every inventory slot within the chest, it helps with keeping the chest sorted) Before taking any items out of the chest, please make sure you breed the cows.
